3 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher Frankie Montas continued his run of dominance by striking out 10 Angels across seven shutout innings on Thursday. Montas allowed three walks and just three hits while collecting his ninth win of the season and fourth-straight quality start. The right-hander has been lights-out in July as he pitched to a 2.30 ERA across 31 1/3 innings this month with a 31.7% strikeout rate. He had at least seven strikeouts in each of his last four starts and had 10 K's in three of his last four outings. On the season, Montas is sporting a career-best 13.7% swinging-strike rate and a 29.3% CSW so he should continue to put up strong numbers for fantasy.
