6 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher Frankie Montas out-pitched Astros ace Gerritt Cole in a quality start Monday. He scattered three hits across six scoreless innings while walking two and striking out two batters. Montas only threw 88 pitches, 53 of which were strikes. He has been a pleasant surprise this season. In eight starts, he is 5-2 with a 3.35 ERA.
