Frankie Montas Roughed Up By Rangers
4 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher Frankie Montas allowed eight runs in 5 2/3 innings in a loss to the Rangers on Monday. Montas got off to a rocky start in this one as he allowed five runs on three extra-base hits in the first inning. He settled down after that and cruised through innings two through five while picking up six strikeouts. Unfortunately for fantasy managers, Montas was allowed to pitch the sixth and he served up another three-run homer to put a bow on a dreadful outing. The right-hander is now 7-7 with a 4.79 ERA, 1.35 WHIP, and 87 strikeouts in 82 2/3 innings. Montas will look to bounce back in a tough matchup versus the Giants on Saturday.
