2 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher Frankie Montas (shoulder) threw around 25 pitches during a bullpen session on Tuesday and felt good coming out of it. There's hope that he can make his next start on the road against the Houston Astros this weekend. Montas has avoided a trip to the injured list due to right shoulder inflammation, and he appears ready to make his first start since July 3. The 29-year-old right-hander is 3-9 on the year for a bad A's team, but he's sporting a nice 3.26 ERA and 1.09 WHIP with 100 strikeouts and only 24 walks in 96 2/3 innings over 17 starts. Assuming he's healthy heading to close out July, Montas figures to be a popular trade chip for the rebuilding A's, and he'd be even more attractive in fantasy on a contending team.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
