4 years agoLos Angeles Angels middle infielder Franklin Barreto (shoulder) injured his left shoulder and was removed from Sunday’s game after attempting to steal second base in the sixth inning. Barreto had struggled so far this season with a .074 batting average even after picking up a hit on Sunday, but the former top prospect had hoped to build off of a solid season in the hitter-friendly PCL last season (.926 OPS, 15 stolen bases in 98 games), and his recent injury is likely to put that on hold. The severity of Barreto’s injury is unclear for now, but fantasy players should expect the 24-year-old to land on the injured list and miss significant time.--Sam Chinitz
