4 years agoLos Angeles Angels second baseman Franklin Barreto (shoulder) still has pain in his shoulder and may require surgery. Barreto was placed on the injured list one week ago after an awkward slide injured his shoulder, and the 24-year-old’s timeline is muddy at this point. Barreto had struggled in 21 games this season with a .107 OBP and a .181 OPS, but the former top-100 prospect still only has 101 major league games under his belt and maintains some promise as a fantasy option. Still, Barreto isn’t worth rostering in most leagues when healthy and is only a factor in late rounds of drafts if he’s healthy coming into next season.--Sam Chinitz
