5 years agoSan Diego Padres outfielder Franmil Reyes is out of Tuesday’s lineup against the Miami Marlins. Reyes was a rumored scratch but MLB.com’s AJ Cassavell indicated the confusion was due to lineup miscommunication. As customary during this time, trade speculation ran wild on social media, but his absence appears to be a routine day off. Reyes is a fan favorite but under team control through 2024, making him an attractive trade piece if the Friars opted to improve in other areas. The 24-year-old has established himself as a bonafide slugger this season, smashing 25 long balls while slashing .253/.307/.540. Regardless of his team situation, Reyes is a threat to go deep whenever he’s in the lineup.--Andrew Le - RotoBaller
