2 years agoCleveland Guardians skipper Terry Francona said that outfielder/designated hitter Franmil Reyes (hamstring) will begin his minor league rehab assignment as the DH for Triple-A Columbus on Tuesday. Reyes has been sidelined since May 25 with right hamstring tightness, but he's getting closer to a return to Cleveland's lineup after taking batting practice on Wednesday. It's possible that the 26-year-old power hitter will return to the Guardians lineup at some point late next week. Reyes has really struggled this year, hitting just .195/.255/.278 with three home runs, 12 RBI, nine runs scored and 57 strikeouts in 145 plate appearances over 35 games, so hopefully the time off allowed him to get his mind right.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
