Freddie Freeman Moved Up To No. 2 Spot Sunday
4 years agoAtlanta Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman finds himself in a unique position Sunday against the Marlins and right-hander Elieser Hernandez -- the No. 2 spot in the batting order. Freeman hasn’t hit there since April 2011, with the absences of Travis d'Arnaud (rest) and Ronald Acuna Jr. (wrist) moving him up. Virtually all of Freeman’s integral Statcast metrics rank as above-average this season, even as he waits for the production in the stat column to catch up to years past. He may gain some incremental attention in DFS due to the possibility of snagging an additional at-bat Sunday, although how much of a long-term plan batting second is remains to be seen.
