Freddie Freeman Negotiations Center On Sixth Year
3 years agoAtlanta Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman continues to negotiate with the club about a return, and the discussions are now centered on the question of whether the team is willing to offer the franchise icon a sixth season. The 2020 National League MVP would be 37 at the end of such a contract. It's long been anticipated that Freeman would return to the reigning World Series champs, but other clubs, notably the Yankees, have shown interest as well. In 2021, Freeman slashed .300/.393/.503 with 31 homers, eight steals, 120 runs, and 83 RBI in 159 games and 600 at-bats.
