Freddy Galvis Amassing Decent Counting Stats
6 years agoSan Diego Padres shortstop Freddy Galvis went 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBI Wednesday against the San Francisco Giants. His three-run job in the eighth inning provided extra insurance for the victory and the modern-day iron man has his slash up to .240/.293/.368 for the year with 12 homers, six steals and 122 R+RBI. Only on a one-year contract with the Friars, it’s uncertain where Galvis will sign next season, but his excellent defense and durability should give him ample opportunity. The Padres could resign him if their young shortstops aren’t ready to contribute to the big league club. Galvis has been a fringe top-30 shortstop this season and a palatable option in deep leagues or a punt play in DFS.
