4 years agoBaltimore Orioles shortstop Freddy Galvis (groin) could return to action for Friday's game against Oakland, according to MLB.com's Joe Trezza. Galvis has been out since leaving Monday's game with left adductor soreness, and had been listed as day-to-day since then. Manager Brandon Hyde said that Galvis took ground balls and participated in batting practice Thursday, adding that he wants to avoid bringing Galvis into the game Thursday but he hopes to have him back for Friday. Galvis had gotten off to one of the best starts of his career, as he is slashing .264/.321/.458 with two home runs, six RBI and 10 runs in 22 games. Managers dealing with injuries at middle infield should look at Galvis as a solid, short-term fill-in option.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
