Freddy Peralta Back To Playing Catch
2 years agoMilwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Freddy Peralta (lat) is technically dealing with a teres major strain, according to general manager David Stearns. Peralta has resumed playing catch, but the team won't have a better idea of a timetable for his return until after the All-Star break. The 26-year-old right-hander is on the 60-day injured list and won't return to Milwaukee's rotation until late July, at the earliest. Before the injury, he had gone 3-2 with a 4.42 ERA, a 1.19 WHIP, a 30.3% strikeout rate and a career-low 7.9% walk rate in 38 2/3 innings over eight starts. Peralta's 2.12 FIP and .327 batting average on balls in play point to positive regression in the second half of the season if he's fully healthy.
