Freddy Peralta Confirmed As Sunday Starter
4 years agoMilwaukee Brewers pitcher Freddy Peralta has been confirmed as the Sunday starter, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. Manager Craig Counsell said that Peralta will start the Brewers third game of the season Sunday against the Cubs. Counsell told the media to not ''get stuck'' on traditional starting roles, so Peralta won't necessarily be guaranteed turns every fifth day. The 24-year-old has posted solid strikeout numbers over his 22 MLB starts with an 11.3 K/9. He's certainly looking like a sleeper candidate if he can hold down a rotation spot and could offer good value in 2020 and beyond. He's even more valuable in dynasty leagues and leagues that value strikeouts heavily.
