Gardner Minshew II Traded To The Eagles
3 years agoThe Jacksonville Jaguars traded quarterback Gardner Minshew II to the Philadelphia Eagles for a 2022 conditional sixth-round draft pick. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the sixth-round pick could be a fifth-rounder if Minshew plays in 50% of the plays in three games in 2021. The 25-year-old was competing with C.J. Beathard for the Jaguars backup QB job, but Jacksonville ultimately decided to move from Minshew altogether. He will compete with Joe Flacco and Nick Mullens for the Eagles' No. 2 QB job behind Jalen Hurts. Minshew won't start for the Eagles but could carve out a role with his new team. The former Jaguar completed 66.1 percent of his passes for 2,259 yards and a 16:5 TD: INT ratio while rushing for 259 yards and a touchdown over nine games in 2020. Minshew won't be on the fantasy radar in 2021 unless Hurts misses time.
