Gardner Minshew Throws Pair Of Touchdowns In Debut
5 years agoJacksonville Jaguars quarterback Gardner Minshew wasn't supposed to see serious minutes in the team's season-opening loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, but a shoulder injury to quarterback Nick Foles led to Minshew playing the final three quarters. Minshew was 22-for-25 throwing the ball, with a pair of touchdown passes and an interception. He added six rushing yards on one carry. Minshew came close to setting a team record for consecutive completions in a game. What happens next in Jacksonville will depend on what the outlook for Foles is. If he misses time, Minshew showed that he can keep the Jaguars offense running, though the overall ceiling on the team is lower without Foles.
