Garret Sparks To Tend Twine Against The Islanders
6 years agoToronto Maple Leafs goaltender Garret Sparks is expected to make the start against the New York Islanders on Thursday. Goaltender Frederik Andersen was in between the pipes on Wednesday against the Edmonton Oilers, and head coach Mike Babcock said he would split the two goaltenders for the back-to-back session, so it looks like Sparks gets a chance to backstop the team for John Tavares' emotional return to Long Island. Sparks is 7-4-1 with a 2.86 goals-against average and .908 save percentage across 12 starts and 13 appearances, but he has a 3.05 GAA and .902 save percentage in six road starts and seven outings.
