Garrett Cooper Gets First Homer Of Career
6 years agoMiami Marlins outfielder Garrett Cooper went 1-for-3 on Wednesday in the win over the struggling Tigers, hitting a 428-foot home run to center, the first of his career, off of Detroit starter Daniel Norris in the top of the sixth inning. The 28-year-old, who has appeared in only 39 games throughout his MLB career due to injuries, has yet to impress this season, sporting a miserable .167 average to go along with just six hits and 12 strikeouts in 36 at-bats. With the Marlins now having won their fifth straight, they will finish off the series with the Tigers on Thursday afternoon with Matthew Boyd on the bump.
