4 years agoMiami Marlins outfielder/first baseman Garrett Cooper finally had a big game in Thursday's win over the Philadelphia Phillies. Cooper went 2-for-4 with a home run and a triple, scoring two runs and driving in three. Cooper also hit what may have been a double with a more generous official scorer, but ended up reaching on an error instead. He could have been a single shy of the first Marlins cycle, but he didn't get a fifth plate appearance anyway. Cooper has scuffled most of the season so far, but he seems to be heating up lately and could end up as a solid offensive piece in the Marlins lineup. Injury and defensive issues have been the negatives throughout Cooper's career, but he's always hit up until this year. He's up to a .220 batting average and .638 OPS.--David A Marcillo - RotoBaller
