3 years agoQuarterback Garrett Gilbert was released by the Dallas Cowboys on Tuesday. Second-year signal caller Ben DiNucci was let go as well. Gilbert looked set to open the season as Dak Prescott's backup, but the Cowboys have apparently decided to go with Cooper Rush in that role instead. Gilbert was decent as a fill-in quarterback last season and shouldn't be unemployed for too long. He won't start anywhere unless injuries strike, but he should be a serviceable backup on a new team soon.--David A Marcillo - RotoBaller
