Garrett Griffin Signs With Lions
3 years agoFormer New Orleans Saints tight end Garrett Griffin signed an undisclosed deal with the Detroit Lions on Thursday, according to a source. Griffin played for head coach Dan Campbell when Campbell coached tight ends for the Saints. The 28-year-old spent his first four seasons in the NFL with the Saints, and he caught all four of his targets for 39 yards in 13 games (six starts) with the team last year. In four total seasons, he has just five catches for 43 yards and no touchdowns in 20 games (nine starts). The Lions have one of the better pass-catching tight ends in the league in T.J. Hockenson, so Griffin will merely be serving as depth at the position in 2022.
