Garrett Hampson Drives In Two On Sunday
4 years agoColorado Rockies center fielder Garrett Hampson went 1-for-3 with a two-run double, one strikeout, and one walk in Sunday's 4-2 loss to the Dodgers. Hampson was responsible for the only two runs the Rockies scored all game as Dodgers starter Julio Urias was dealing. Hampson laced a two-run double off of reliever Jimmy Nelson in the bottom of the eighth inning but it wasn't enough for Colorado to pull out a victory. Hampson has now started three of four games in center field to begin the season. He was batting in the two-hole in two of those games, including today while batting seventh in the other. Through 12 at-bats, he's slashing .250/.357/.417 with a 2:2 K/BB ratio. The hope is that he can continue to get consistent at-bats, which should benefit both the Rockies and fantasy managers that have been waiting patiently for the 26-year-old's breakout.
