Garrett Hampson Goes Yard In Win
3 years agoColorado Rockies outfielder/second baseman Garrett Hampson went 2-for-3 with a home run, two runs scored, and a walk in a 7-3 win over the Milwaukee Brewers on Thursday. Hampson followed up C.J. Cron's grand slam in the first inning with a solo home run of his own, which was his first long ball since May 14. The speedy 26-year-old is slashing a disappointing .246/.301/.434 across 219 at-bats this season but he's put up some decent counting stats with 13 doubles, five triples, six home runs, 17 RBI, and 12 stolen bases. He went through quite a slump in May but has shown better plate discipline in June, slashing .341/.356/.523 over the last 15 games. He can be frustrating at times but he's not an easy player to bench with the upside that he possesses.
