Garrett Hampson Homers And Triples In Friday's Victory
3 years agoOutfielder Garrett Hampson went 3-for-4 with a home run, a triple, two runs scored, and a walk in a 9-6 win over the Reds on Friday. Raimel Tapia was out with a sore hand so Hampson moved up in the batting order and hit leadoff. That move paid immediate dividends for the Rockies as he led off the bottom of the first inning with a triple. He would come around to score later in the frame as well. He also hit a home run, his fifth of the year, off of Sean Doolittle in the seventh inning. The 26-year-old finished a double shy of the cycle. He's now slashing .258/.322/.461 with five home runs, 13 RBI, and seven stolen bases over 128 at-bats. He's become a serviceable everyday fantasy player at this point.
