Garrett Hill To Start Game 2 On Thursday
2 years agoThe Detroit Tigers will be calling up right-hander Garrett Hill from the minors so that he can start Game 2 of a doubleheader on Thursday against the Oakland Athletics. He will be opposed by A's right-hander Frankie Montas (shoulder). Hill will be making just his third big-league start for the Tigers after allowing seven earned runs on eight hits while walking three and striking out four over 11 innings in his first two starts against the Cleveland Guardians and Chicago White Sox. The 26-year-old has a 3.23 ERA and 1.08 WHIP with 98 K's and 25 walks in 69 2/3 innings over 15 starts for Triple-A Toledo and Double-A Erie this year in the minors. It's a very favorable matchup against the last-place A's, but Hill is still a pretty shaky fantasy streamer for Thursday.
