Garrett Mitchell Hits First Career Homer Monday
2 years agoMilwaukee Brewers outfield prospect Garrett Mitchell made his presence known in Monday's 7-5 win over the Pirates, going 1-for-3 with a two-run home run, a walk, and a strikeout. He also stole his first big-league base. The 23-year-old took Wil Crowe deep in the eighth inning to tie things up at 5-5. Mitchell is the Brewers' number five prospect according to MLB Pipeline and was hitting very well at Triple-A Nashville before his promotion several days ago. He has only played three games with the team but does have a .286/.375/.714 slash line so far. The start is encouraging, but fantasy managers will need to see more in redraft leagues before trusting him.
