4 years agoSan Diego Padres starter Garrett Richards held the Los Angeles Dodgers to one earned run across six innings in a victory Tuesday. The 32-year-old endured early trouble but eventually grooved to three strikeouts while allowing six knocks and two walks. The outing was Richards’ best since his July 26 debut and he carries a 3.74 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 7.9 K/9 through 21 2/3 frames. While he boasts top-tier velocity and spin rates, Richards’ vulnerability for short outings makes him a matchup-based fantasy pitcher.
