3 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Garrett Richards allowed only two runs on five hits and three walks in five innings against the Oakland Athletics Saturday. He also hit a batter and struck out two. This can be counted as a major improvement for Richards, who has been attempting to remake his repertoire since the new guidelines about sticky substances were released. He has not posted a quality start since June 1. Despite the improvement, it does not appear Richards believes he can be the same kind of pitcher as earlier in the season, and fantasy managers may want to sit out the transition.--Doug Goldring - RotoBaller
