6 years agoLos Angeles Angels starting pitcher Garrett Richards intends to use his curveball more often going forward. Up to this point, Richards has only used his curve about 3 to 6 percent of the time, relying much more on his fastball/slider combo. Richards has thrown nine masterful innings in spring training, giving up two runs on five hits with two walks and 12 strikeouts. Health has always been the issue for the 29-year-old, but if he can remain in LA's six-man rotation all season, he will easily be worth the value of a 14th- or 15th-round pick, where he is going on average.--patton
