4 years agoSan Diego Padres right-handed pitcher Garrett Richards will get the ball Monday against Colorado on just three days’ rest. Richards was hammered in his most recent outing Thursday, yielding six runs while getting just two outs versus the Mariners. Despite his lack of usual rest time in-between starts, he has thrown a combined 97 pitches over his last two outings. Richards has started on three days’ rest just twice in his career, with the most recent occasion having been in 2015. With Monday’s contest taking place at Coors Field, owners are best served looking elsewhere, even with a two-start week on Richards’ horizon.--Jesse Borek
