Garrett Whitlock Locks Down Three-Inning Save
3 years agoBoston Red Sox relief pitcher Garrett Whitlock took over for Garrett Richards to start the seventh inning Thursday, and pitched the final three innings to pick up an unconventional save. It was his first of the season. All told, he allowed one run on three hits and a walk while striking out two. Whitlock has been excellent out of the pen, producing a 1.77 ERA and .98 WHIP with 21 strikeouts in 20.1 innings to start the year. With those ratios, Whitlock could be worthy of a spot on fantasy rosters, especially in leagues that reward holds.
