3 years agoNew York Yankees catcher Gary Sanchez went 1-for-3 with a three-run homer and two runs scored in an 8-7 loss to the Houston Astros Sunday. Sanchez belted a three-run blast in the eighth inning, giving the Yankees some insurance runs, which ended up being for naught in the Astros' comeback victory. Still, it was a much-needed game for Sanchez, who hadn't homered since June 29. His .217 batting average and 27.1 percent strikeout rate are hard to stomach, but his 15 homers rank him third among all backstops. It's those power numbers that make Sanchez one of the better upside plays at his position, despite the streaky nature of his game.--Tim Capurso
