4 years agoNew York Yankees catcher Gary Sanchez (finger) is considered day-to-day after X-rays on his injured finger(s) came back negative. Sanchez was forced to leave Saturday's game in the fourth inning after being hit on the hand by a foul tip, though the Yankees say that he has a contusion on his right index and middle fingers. The 28-year-old backstop told reporters that he feels better than when it happened and "has more movement in his fingers." Kyle Higashioka will be the team's starting catcher for Sunday's game, though manager Aaron Boone said he expects Sanchez to return to the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Braves following the scheduled off day.--Tim Capurso
