Gavin Lux Headlines Cuts By Dodgers On Sunday

5 years agoThe Los Angeles Dodgers optioned pitchers Yadier Alvarez, Donnie Hart and Josh Sborz to the minor-league camp on Sunday, and they also reassigned infielders Omar Estevez and Gavin Lux, as well as pitcher Mitchell White. Lux was the headliner of the group, as he had an adventure in the infield during Cactus League spring play, having difficulty making the throws from first base. His struggles are similar to Steve Sax, a slick-fielding infielder from the 1980's, who had trouble throwing from second to first. Once he ironed those issues out he was fine, and Lux is expected to follow along that same path. He is an intriguing long-term keeper prospect in NL-only fantasy formats.--Daniel Dobish
