Gavin Lux Starting On Tuesday

4 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers second baseman Gavin Lux is starting on Tuesday for the fourth time since being called up last week. Lux is batting ninth for the third time this season (the other start came with Lux batting eighth), and although batting late in the order hurts his RBI chances and plate appearances, hitting in front of Mookie Betts should help offset some of those issues. Lux has struggled since his call-up with only two hits and four strikeouts over his first 11 at-bats, but he showed promise in 23 games last season with a .466 xwOBAcon and an 11.4% swinging-strike rate. Fantasy players should be in no rush to add Lux given that he’s been struggling and spent most of the season at the team’s alternate site, but Lux should be rostered in all dynasty leagues and bears watching in redraft leagues.--Sam Chinitz
