Gavin Sheets Hits Two Home Runs

3 years agoChicago White Sox infielder Gavin Sheets was recalled from Triple-A on Wednesday and went straight to work in the teams victory versus the Pittsburgh Pirates. Sheets went 2-for-3 on the evening with two homers and four RBI. The youngster started things off with a three-run blast in the bottom of the fourth inning and then followed that up with a solo shot in the bottom of the eighth inning. Sheets showed plenty of power earlier in the year and now has eight home runs to go along with 20 RBI and a .239 batting average in 92 at-bats. It's unclear how much playing time Sheets will be getting moving forward, but managers seeking cheap power should monitor his situation in the coming days.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
