Geno Smith Will Start Friday’s Preseason Finale
2 years agoSeattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith will be under center for the team's final preseason tuneup Friday against the Cowboys. Smith will have started all three preseason outings for Seattle, who has yet to officially name a starting signal caller for Week 1 of the regular season vs. Denver. Drew Lock may not get the start, but the plan is for him to play extensively in the team's final warmup outing. Smith started three games last year for the Seahawks and completed 68.4% of his passes, while recording five passing touchdowns to just one interception. Lock is new to the franchise after having sporadically started with the Broncos since 2019, with whom he went 8-13 as a starter. Neither quarterback has season-long fantasy appeal due to shaky track records of production.
