3 years agoNew York Jets offensive tackle George Fant said he has discussed a contract extension with the team. Fant is entering the final year of his current contract in 2022, and it appears the Jets are willing to extend him after he stepped up at left tackle last year in the absence of Mekhi Becton. The 29-year-old veteran performed well enough in 2021 that he will enter training camp this summer in a competition with Becton for the starting left tackle spot. Fant has experience at both tackle spots in the NFL, but he thinks his best spot is on the quarterback's blind side.
