4 years agoHouston Astros outfielder George Springer is out of the starting lineup again Sunday against A’s left-hander Jesus Luzardo as he continues to battle a wrist ailment. Manager Dusty Baker noted that Springer is able to hit in the batting cage, but the team is taking his absence one day at a time moving forward. Myles Straw will start in center field again Sunday. After having collected just one hit in his first 21 at-bats, Springer had come around since July 31, having compiled two homers and 11 RBI in six games. His next chance to get back in the lineup comes Monday when Houston returns home to play San Francisco, who has not yet announced a starter for the contest.--Jesse Borek
