4 years agoToronto Blue Jays outfielder George Springer has been diagnosed with a Grade 2 oblique strain. He underwent an MRI on Tuesday, which revealed the strain, but the news came as a surprise to the team as he's been playing through the issue and isn't experiencing any pain or severe symptoms. The plan is for him to take a few days off and be re-evaluated over this coming weekend. While it's encouraging that Springer was able to play through the strain pre-diagnosis, oblique issues can be very troublesome. At this point it would not be surprising if Springer opened the season on the injured list as there is zero reason to rush him back early. This is a situation to monitor closely as the regular season fast approaches. The team should provide another update over the weekend but this news should lower his ADP a bit.--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller
