George Springer Exits Thursday With Wrist Sprain
4 years agoHouston Astros outfielder George Springer was removed from Thursday’s contest against Arizona after sustaining a sprained right wrist. Springer had been scorching hot, having amassed 11 RBI over his past five games, but was replaced by Myles Straw. Even with his hot hitting, Springer’s average sits at .182 following his 12th appearance of the year. Houston’s roster has been mangled by injuries and any extended absence from Springer would likely pave the way for Straw to see consistent playing time. Springer’s next chance to get back on the field comes Friday against A’s right-hander Chris Bassitt, whom he has homered off twice in his career.
