George Springer Leads Way With Sixth Home Run
7 years agoHouston Astros lead-off man George Springer went 2-for-3 with an RBI single and his sixth home run of the season as the Astros took care of the A's 8-4 Sunday. Springer got the Astros on the board in the third inning, smacking a single into left field to plate a run. He then smoked a laser over the center field fence for a home run to break the game open. Springer has shaken off a sluggish start to slash .267/.346/.491 in the month of April with a team-leading 19 runs driven in. He now has hits in 10 of his last 11 games and still hasn't quite hit his stride yet. The case can be made that Springer's best days at the plate are still ahead of him, making him a tantalizing trade target in fantasy.
