George Springer Out Against Red Sox
2 years agoToronto Blue Jays outfielder George Springer is not in the starting lineup on Friday against the Boston Red Sox. Springer also sat out of the final game of the first half of the season on Monday, so Toronto is just looking to give him a bit of an extra rest to open the second half of the season. The 32-year-old has also been playing through a nagging elbow injury for a while. In his absence, Raimel Tapia will start in center field and hit leadoff against Red Sox right-hander Nathan Eovaldi. Tapia doesn't have much power to speak of, but he'll be a popular low-priced DFS target on Friday. He's hitting .275 on the season with four home runs, 25 RBI, 27 runs scored and five stolen bases in 240 at-bats for Toronto.
