4 years agoToronto Blue Jays outfielder George Springer (oblique) is "doing really well" in his recovery from an oblique injury, per manager Charlie Montoyo. Springer suffered the ailment late in the spring, and it cost him the opening series of the season, though the team expected him to be ready for their home opener on April 8. That timeline appears to be feasible, given that the plan is for Springer to take live batting practice on Tuesday. If all goes well, he's eligible to come off the Injured List on Thursday- and would presumably be in the lineup against the Angels. It sure seems like fantasy managers who drafted Springer won't have to wait much longer to slot him into their lineups.--Tim Capurso
