4 years agoHouston Astros outfielder George Springer was scratched just before first pitch Tuesday against Colorado and right-hander Antonio Senzatela. Myles Straw took his place in center field and held down the leadoff spot. Springer recently missed four games due to a wrist ailment, but had played in each of Houston’s past six contests. His ailment makes the club’s outfield thin with Yordan Alvarez (knee) and Michael Brantley (quad) on the injured list. Springer’s next opportunity to return to the lineup comes Wednesday against Rockies right-hander Ryan Castellani at Coors Field, which should make him an extremely sought after commodity.
