German Marquez Allows Five Runs In No-Decision
3 years agoColorado Rockies starting pitcher German Marquez took a no-decision on Wednesday when he allowed five runs on seven hits with three strikeouts over three innings in a 13-10 win over the Cubs in game two of a doubleheader. Marquez suffered the same fate as Austin Gomber, who pitched in game one, as he also allowed five earned runs. He coughed up all five in the second inning as the Cubs hit single after single. It just wasn't Marquez's day but the Rockies ended up tying and eventually winning the game, which spared the 26-year-old from taking the loss. He now owns an 11-9 record, 4.02 ERA, 1.19 WHIP, and 154:52 K/BB ratio over 150 innings (26 starts). He'll face the Rangers on the road in his next turn, which should be a much easier start.
