German Marquez Displaying Ace Form To Begin 2020
4 years agoColorado Rockies right-handed pitcher German Marquez has had all of the makings of an ace through his first three starts of the 2020 year. With walks and home runs normally serving as his bugaboo, Marquez has been stingy about both early on, due in large part to the fact that his breaking pitches have been nearly untouchable. He has thrown both his curveball and slider 64 times this season and there has been a total of two hits recorded, both coming off the curve. Factor in his above-average fastball velocity (95.8 MPH), and it’s easy to see why his xwOBA sits at .235. He next takes the hill Sunday against a Seattle offense that has a league-worst .547 OPS at home, making him an elite DFS option in addition to his season-long ownership appeal.
