German Marquez Dominates The Padres Over Seven Innings
3 years agoColorado Rockies starting pitcher German Marquez earned the win on Saturday when he allowed just three hits and a walk with nine strikeouts over seven innings in a 3-0 win over the San Diego Padres. Marquez just continues to roll for the Rockies as he's allowed just three runs over his last 46 innings (five starts), notching five quality starts over that same span. San Diego had no answer for him on Saturday as he punched out nine batters, his second-highest K total of the year. He now owns a solid 8-6 record, 3.36 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, and 114:42 K/BB over 112 1/3 innings (19 starts). He's getting a well-deserved trip to the Midsummer Classic for the first time.
