3 years agoColorado Rockies starting pitcher German Marquez earned the win on Saturday when he allowed two runs on four hits with four walks and seven strikeouts over six innings in a 5-3 win over the Padres. Marquez did a solid job limiting the Padres offense despite issuing four walks. He allowed a two-run homer to Jake Cronenworth in the bottom of the third inning, which accounted for the only runs against him. Marquez even helped his own cause in this one, hitting a solo home run. He's now earned a quality start in 12-of-15 games and owns a 3.51 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, and 134:48 K/BB ratio over 130 2/3 innings (22 starts). He gets the Marlins at home in his next turn.--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller
