4 years agoColorado Rockies starting pitcher German Marquez surrendered three runs on six hits with six strikeouts and no walks over five innings pitched in Wednesday's Cactus League start vs. the San Francisco Giants. Marquez got off to a rough start in this one as he hit two batters and allowed a pair of runs in the first inning. He would settle down after that and only allow one other run to cross the plate over the next four frames. His final stat line was decent as he punched out six and didn't walk anyone. The Rockies' ace has struggled so far during Cactus League play by registering a 4.91 ERA, 1.73 WHIP, and 10:4 K/BB ratio over 11 innings. He's likely just working off the rust and should be ready to roll on Opening Day. It definitely hurts Marquez that he makes half of his starts in Coors Field but he should be a good source of strikeouts this season in fantasy. His career 1.27 WHIP is pretty impressive considering he's spent his entire career in Colorado. He's one of the few Rockies' pitchers worth rostering this season and is always worth a stream when he's on the road.--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller
